This one is for anyone who is feeling a little lost lately—a bit of a vulnerable moment from my heart to yours, and I hope you can relate.
Whether you’re a wedding vendor feeling the weight of this year on your shoulders or a couple in the depths of planning your wedding day, I’m here to share a piece of my journey.
These past few months have been filled with reflection, collaboration, networking, and soul searching. Through this journey, I’ve discovered a lot about myself, my brand, and, most importantly, the space I want to create not only for the beautiful couples I work with but also for my fellow wedding vendors.
In today’s fast-paced world, it often feels like a race to create the best content, showcase the most elaborate details, host the best retreats, or get featured the most. This constant chase can leave many of us feeling a bit defeated—myself included. While I absolutely love a good set of details, a beautiful content day, or a fabulous networking party, I’ve realized that these pursuits can sometimes lead to isolating spaces and a fear of missing out (FOMO).
A lack of representation and inclusivity, combined with the constant comparisons of “who did it best” or “did you go to XYZ?”, can create often times create an unwelcoming atmosphere. It’s no secret that many couples are feeling burnt out from the costs and time involved in planning a wedding, and vendors are feeling burnt out from trying to prove their worth and fuel their creativity while running a business.
But why do we feel this way? Why is there such a separation between engaged couples and the wedding vendor community or even amongst our own communities? If we take a step back from the pricing, the Pinterest boards, the social media likes, and the features, we can remember what we’re all here to do: celebrate MARRIAGE. Every single one of us.
We should focus less on creating perfect moments and more on creating a safe space for every couple to realize that it’s truly just about their love. Whatever that looks like, whatever that feels like, whatever their day costs, and wherever it takes place.
This year, I’ve decided to get back to my why. I want to recapture the feeling of pure magic I get during a wedding day, the forever bonds I create with couples, and the gratefulness in my heart for witnessing so many love stories.
If you can relate to what I’ve shared, I’m here for you!
Whether you’re a couple still looking for your photographer/lifelong cheerleader or a fellow vendor seeking a safe space to be yourself and find your community, I am HERE FOR YOU.
